series. good morning, everyone. thanks for joining us. i'm carolyn tyler. let's start with a quick first look at the weather with our mete lisa argen. >> good morning, everyone. it's definitely a cooler start. temperatures have dropped into the lower 40s, not only in the north bay but mid-40s elsewhere around the bay. grab the jacket. we have partly cloudy skies. high and mid-level clouds will continue to advance ahead of a cold front. temperatures today cooler. numbers ranging from the lower 60s at our coast to just about 70 but we will have the increasing clouds throughout the day and the cold front, it is going to hold off until the overnight hours. we have the giants game that will feature more clouds. breezy winds pick up and we are talking about the first significant rain of the season headed our way. i'll have the details of what to expect for that and the week ahead coming up. carolyn. >> thank you, lisa. you know the giants are back home this morning, preparing for another do-or-die situation. tonight they are hosting the cardinal in game six of the national league championship

negotiators were used. >> violent night in san jose. police investigating two homicides that happened in a matter of hours. latest incident shortly after midnight, live look at the scene in east san jose. all police vehicles still there. they say several people were standing in front of a house when someone approached them, shot one of the men and ran. the victim died at the scene. investigators believe the shooting was gang-related. earlier, a fight broke out in the downtown area of the 100 block of south second street. officers found a man on the ground not breathing pronounced dead at the hospital no word how he died or if there are suspects. >>> mitt romney and president obama are back out on the campaign trail already this morning after last night's debate. strong showing by romney who criticized the president on the economy. the pair also brought the sluggish economy with romney promising to close tax loopholes and limit deductions. mr. obama says that plan will hurt the struggling middle class. >> the president: it is not possible to come up with enough deductions and loopholes
